About the Project:

Isles, Inc. is a nonprofit “fostering self-reliant families and healthy, sustainable communities.” The organization’s website was using a content management system (CMS), but the system had not been configured to allow comprehensive flexibility.

Isles sought to rebuild its website using a flexible, but powerful platform. The organization’s services have evolved in recent years and may continue to evolve in the future. Isles has also started using Salesforce and the organization wished to use a CMS that could integrate with Salesforce as the organization’s use of the database software evolved.

Finally, Isles wished to build a site to address two main audiences: people who are interested in using the organization’s services and people who support or promote the organization’s services.

We worked with Isles’ staff to refine their collective vision and preliminary plans into a final website. This was a concept to completion project. SmartCause Digital created a custom design and a custom responsive theme in Drupal. We built the site to allow Isles’ staff to make as many changes as possible: the menus are all editable, the service pages can be unpublished and new services can be added, the homepage slideshow is completely editable in content and order, and each of the sidebar items are editable. Salesforce is integrated via FormAssembly forms, but as the organization’s use of the database progresses, more complex interaction with Drupal is possible.

The new Isles.org site explains Isles’ mission and services to two distinct audiences: participants and supporters. The site is also flexible enough to grow with the organization both by being easy to update/edit and by employing a responsive theme to accommodate a range of devices.
